Arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled appointment time, to allow for insurance verification, for any time needed to update your insurance information in our system or for completion of any needed paperwork.
A No-Show fee of $50 will be charged for all appointments that are canceled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice.
Always bring a picture ID and Insurance card to every visit (even if you think we have it on file).
Payment is due at the time of service.
After-Hours Care
Although the office may be closed, there is always someone available 24/7 to cover our patients’ urgent needs.
For Non-Emergent Concerns
Our office is fully integrated electronically allowing secure access 24/7 via the internet or your cellular phone. This allows parents access to their child/children’s personal health information. You may request medication refills, leave messages for our nurse or request an appointment for your child’s annual well-care visit. All messages will be answered within one to two business day(s).
Not set up for the portal or the healow™ app, no problem. Click here to leave an email message and our staff will happily contact you within 1 – 2 business days.
For Emergencies
We use Pediatric Triage Nurse services through Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA). Please call them at (404) 785-5437. On rare occasions (like holidays), there may be a delay in speaking to the nurse. If you feel that your wait time has been excessive, please call back. The nurse will offer medical information based on protocols that exist for almost every situation. If the nurse feels that it is an emergency or warrants the doctor’s attention, she will refer you to one of our on-call doctors, who will call you back.
Please turn off your answering machine and anti-caller ID block. You should expect a call back within 30 minutes. If you are concerned that you have not been called back quickly enough, please try calling us again. Sometimes we have been given the wrong callback number or there may be a malfunction with our cell phones.
If your child should require after-hours care, we refer patients to be seen at CHOA urgent care centers – the nearest urgent care centers are located at The Collection at Forsyth or North Point location off of Mansell Drive. The two children’s hospitals in the area include CHOA – Scottish Rite and CHOA – Egleston.
Billing Policies
As a courtesy to our patients, we are enrolled in numerous managed care insurance programs. While we are pleased to offer this service to you, you are ultimately responsible for providing accurate information about your insurance coverage. Your ID and patient insurance card are required at every visit to facilitate accurate verification of your insurance coverage. Payment is due at the time of service. We accept cash and all major credit cards. No Checks.
As an added service, we provide ONLINE BILL PAY. Online bill pay is simple and easy. In the search bar type Vickery Pediatrics and follow the instructions. You can pay with credit/debit or HSA card. Make sure that your child’s name is in the Patient ID, to allow us to properly credit your account.
No insurance … No worries: If you currently do not have insurance, we offer a “Same–Day” discounted rate for patients that are able to pay on the date of service. Please ask our Front Office staff for our same day rates. We also participate in VFC, the state-funded vaccine program that supplies immunizations for children under 18 years that do not have insurance.
Our CoVID 19 policies
We offer separate sick and well entrances, waiting areas and exam rooms. We attempt to move patients into a private room as quickly as possible to minimize exposure to other patients and families. We request that you limit the number of guests/children that accompany you to your child’s appointment to our office to help limit their exposure to illness.
We no longer keep toys or books in our reception areas or exam rooms as the risk of transmission of “germs” is too great. We clean/disinfect all our communal areas two times a day. We encourage you to bring your child’s favorite toy with you to help keep them entertained during their visit. We request that you do not bring food or beverages (other than formula) into the office.
If your child is scheduled for a well-care visit (annual physical) and is sick or has fever (temperature >/= 100.5 o F), we request that you notify us in advance as we may need to reschedule or change the visit to a “sick” visit.
To protect all children, families and staff that enter Vickery Pediatrics, we require that everyone over the age of 2 years must wear a mask to enter our office. Please help us in preventing the spread of illnesses.
