For sick care calls outside of office hours, we use Pediatric Nurse Triage services through Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA). You can reach them by calling (404) 785-5437 after-hours. Parents can speak with a nurse, and may be referred to the on-call doctor for assistance and an appointment at a CHOA facility.

Telemedicine

Whether you are located in Johns Creek, Suwanee, Sugar Hill or the surrounding areas, your child deserves access to the best quality healthcare. We use telemedicine services as one way to provide fast, convenient and accessible care to our patients.

Parents can access the healow™ app to access their child’s health information and retrieve test results 24 hours a day. Our telemedicine services can also be used for remote appointments, and to email your doctor when the need for assistance is less urgent.

Some frequent causes of sick visits are ongoing stomach pains, vomiting, problems swallowing, headaches, skin rashes and minor injuries. When you have concerns but don’t require an in-person appointment, you can use our telemedicine service to contact our team.

How do I know if I should take my child to the emergency room or to a pediatrician?

The emergency room is for severe or life-threatening issues like breathing problems, deep wounds, serious burns, broken bones and continuous bleeding. For less serious medical conditions, contact your pediatrician for advice and a same-day appointment.

How do I know if my child has the flu or the common cold?

A child with the flu is likely to have chills and a high fever, along with tiredness and sore muscles. If your child has a high fever and is in some distress, you can call our practice to arrange a sick visit.
